It is clinically very important to observe recovery of intestine function after transplant operation of the intestinal tract. This recovery of the function can be monitored by xylose concentration in blood after dosage of xylose.
Xylose in blood was analyzed using an anion exchange column Finepak GEL SA-121 with 0.45M H3BO3 (pH 9.0) for mobile phase. A post column derivatization method was used for fluorescence detection.
