Characterization methods for cosmetic and personal care products Norlab offers a whole range of testing and analysis instruments for cosmetic and personal care products.
Dynamic contact angle measurement The contact angle is a parameter used to analyse the wetting behaviour of a liquid on a solid surface. The static contact angle describes the state in equilibrium. Dynamic contact angles describe a drop of liquid that is in motion. For example, this means measuring while a drop rolls off a tilted solid surface.

Real time analysis solutions by Plasmion
Good morning,
Welcome to the Norlab mass spectrometry newsletter dedicated to chemical sensor technology solutions from Plasmion.
Mass spectrometry (MS) is one of the most powerful techniques in the field of chemical analysis. It consists of two main components, an ionization source and a mass analyzer, enabling the detection and characterization of substances based on mass to charge ratio of their molecules. SICRIT (Soft Ionization by Chemical Reaction In Transfer) by Plasmion is a brand new concept in MS ionization.
With conventional atmospheric pressure ionization technologies, the ions are mostly formed outside the inlet of a MS. This implies that the substance to be analyzed cannot be analyzed directly, but needs to be sprayed into the MS. The patented SICRIT ionization source extends the atmospheric pressure inlet of the MS and ionizes all molecules which are drawn into the MS by its inherent vacuum. Due to the flow-through design of the ionization source, it is dedicated for online-monitoring of volatiles without any consumables as well as for demanding hyphenation techniques. The SICRIT technology works as an easy plug and play solution for almost any mass spectrometer.
Norlab is the exclusive distributor in the Nordic countries of the SICRIT MS ionization source from Plasmion. If you are looking to upgrade your current MS into an electronic nose sensor that enables real-time process measurement results, our Product Line Manager Simon Sørensen (simon.soerensen@norlab.com) will be happy to discuss your applications and needs.
Please feel free to forward this e-mail to someone more appropriate for us to connect with to explore how the SICRIT ionization technology could unleash the full potential of your mass spectrometers.
Unleash the full potential of your mass spectrometer with the versatile SICRIT Ionization set SC-30. It is a plug & play flow through Ionization add-on for mass spectrometers with an atmospheric pressure inlet. It can transform each mass spectrometer into an electronic nose sensor that enables real time process measurement with several advantages.
Coffee aroma profiling by direct SICRIT HR-MS analysis
Coffee aroma depends highly on the beans used in the brew. The origin of this aroma, namely the chemical composition of the coffee, is very complex. With more than 1000 volatile compounds identified that associates with the flavor in the coffee. In this application note coffee aroma compounds were detected and identified in real time using SICRIT technology.
SICRIT technology for fast and direct SPME-MS analysis of environmental trace contaminants
The need to perform a fast and simple trace analysis have become a necessity in a wide range of application fields, such as biomedical, forensic, food and environmental analysis.
The SPME-MS approach offers high sensitivity and high resolution, with shorter sample runs than traditional analysis methods.
Fast detection of chemical warfare agents by direct SICRIT-MS analysis
In recent years the use of chemical warfare agents (CWA) has sadly increased and the need for sufficient civil protection and early warning systems against these substances becomes even more obvious. Unfortunately, analysis of such compounds is particularly difficult due to the high toxicity, so the need for methods that are sensitive, fast, and selective is even higher. SICRIT can perform fast detection of CWA with unmatched sensitivity.

Measuring cheese pH Worldwide hundreds of types of cheese are produced. Their styles, textures and flavors differ, but also the hardness varies. Therefore, Sentron offers various types of pH probes; each with their own unique features and advantages.
Measuring meat and fish pH In non-frozen meat or fish, the pH can be measured by piercing it with the Sentron LanceFET probe thanks to its tip with stainless steel point.
Sentron measuring soil pH Sentron provides robust pH probes for soil analysis. The pH probe sensors are based on their proprietary ISFET (ion selective field effect transistor) technology.
